BREAKING: INEC Announces Timetable, Schedule for 2027 General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled the timetable and schedule for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the Commission’s Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, dismissed earlier reports claiming that the electoral body had already released the election timetable.

Amupitan explained that the announcement was made in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2022 (as amended).

He disclosed that the presidential election will be held on February 20, 2027, while the governorship, senatorial, and other elections are scheduled for March 6, 2027.
