“2027 Election is War for Nigeria” – Aisha Yesufu Declares

Political activist Aisha Yesufu has stirred fresh debate ahead of the next general elections after declaring that Nigeria’s 2027 polls will be a decisive battle for the nation’s future.

Yesufu made the remark in a message shared on social media platform X on Saturday.

In the post, the outspoken campaigner warned Nigerians that the coming election would determine the direction of the country and the survival of democratic values.

The activist argued that citizens must not treat the election season with indifference.

According to her, political participation will be crucial as Nigerians face what she described as a struggle over the country’s destiny.

She wrote: “Let me repeat, 2027 election is WAR! Nigerians are fighting for their lives and the soul of Nigeria.

“This is not the time to be a bystander, the more incidents, the more likely we become victims!

“Yesterday’s victims were once survivors, today’s victims were yesterday’s survivors and tomorrow’s victims will be today’s survivors. WHO IS NEXT?

“The truth will always set you free! No matter what you do, ensure you perch on the side of truth and justice!

“It might not earn you love but it will definitely earn you peace of mind and capacity to answer any question thrown at you by any journalist.”

Her comments have already triggered mixed reactions online. Some supporters agreed with her call for active civic engagement. Others criticised the language used, saying elections should not be framed as warfare.

Yesufu has remained one of Nigeria’s most vocal political commentators in recent years. She frequently speaks on governance, corruption, and citizens’ rights. Her statements often generate strong reactions across the political space.

The 2027 general election is expected to be a major political contest as parties begin early alignments and discussions over possible candidates.
