Ex-presidential adviser Obono-Obla eyes APC National Publicity Secretary position

Okoi Obono-Obla, a former Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP) has announced his plan to vie for the position of the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obono-Obla, a lawyer who had earlier announced his plan to contest for the position of National secrtary of the party said he is now throwing his hat in the ring for the role of the party’s national Publicity Secretary.

Speaking in a recent interview, the former presidential aide said he is prepared for the party’s executive elections slated to take place at the APC’s National Convention.

Expressing optimism ahead of the National Convention, Obono-Obla said he has been a loyal member of the ruling party.

His words, “Being a loyal party man, I changed my mind to align my aspiration with the decision of the party.”

A lawyer and activist, Obono-Obla stated that he had intended to vie for the APC National Publicity Secretary Position or the National Vice Chairman (South-South).

According to the lawyer, his final decision on what position to contest was subject to the party leaders’ agreement.

Also describing himself as a suitable candidate for the role, Obono-Obla said his experience as the chairman of SPIP gives him an edge over other contestants.

Further declaring support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the APC’s leader, Obono-Obla said he would do a great job as the party’s image maker.

“I will function seamlessly as a credible publicity anchor for the Party,” Obono-Obla said.
