NGF Reacts to Maiduguri Bombings, Demands Stronger Action Against Terrorists

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has condemned the multiple suicide bombings that rocked Maiduguri on Monday night, describing the attacks as shocking and reprehensible.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, NGF Chairman, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, denounced the incident as evil and unacceptable, noting that it amounted to a senseless loss of innocent lives. He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to dismantle the capacity of terrorist groups and prevent further attacks.

The Forum expressed its condolences to the government and people of Borno State, assuring them of its solidarity during this difficult time.

We stand firmly with the people of Borno State and will continue to collaborate with the Federal Government to eliminate terrorism across the country,” the statement read.

The NGF also condemned the attacks on civilians and government facilities, reiterating its unwavering support for security forces in their ongoing operations to curb insurgency.
