“APC convention signals collective resolve to strengthen democratic values” – Minister Idris

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has described the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a significant milestone for the ruling party.

Idris, who serves as the Co-Chairman of the Media Sub-committee for the Convention assured that all arrangements have been made to ensure a successful outing for party members and delegates.

The APC National convention has been scheduled to take place at Eagle Square in Abuja on March 28.

POLITICS NIGERIA gathers that while several members of the APC are already in Abuja, no fewer than 32 governors and 8,453 delegates from 36 states are expected at the two-day event elect party officials.

According to Idris, the APC National Convention would also bring together, delegates from across Nigeria to champion policy engagement, leadership election and strategic direction-setting for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also stated that the convention would help the party enhance unity and cohesion among members and leaders.

He said, “The convention is not just a routine exercise, but a moment of reflection, consolidation, and planning. It represents our collective resolve to strengthen democratic values, deepen internal governance, and align party processes with national development priorities.

“The APC continues to evolve as a broad-based political platform that accommodates diverse perspectives while maintaining unity of purpose. This diversity remains a key strength in advancing national development and democratic consolidation,” Idris said.
