PDP Rules Out Endorsing Tinubu, Pledges to Field Own Candidate for 2027 Elections

A senior figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Daboikiabo Warmate, has reiterated that the party will not support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

Warmate made the statement on Friday during an interview while speaking on the 2027 general elections. He insisted that the PDP intends to present its own presidential candidate.

“That position to support President Tinubu is merely the personal view of the FCT Minister. It does not reflect the party’s stance.

“The PDP’s position is clear: we will produce our own presidential candidate. We are not considering endorsing the sitting president in the APC.

“While Wike has expressed his personal opinion, which he is entitled to, the party stands firm on producing a credible candidate from the South, in line with our zoning arrangement and taking into account the factors that have led to this crisis,” Warmate said.
