Amaechi Pays Condolence Visit to El-Rufai Over Mother’s Death

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has paid a condolence visit to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following the death of his mother.

Amaechi, who visited El-Rufai on Saturday, criticised the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for releasing the former governor without a court order.

El-Rufai’s mother passed away on Friday after battling age-related health challenges that had worsened in recent times. He was subsequently released from ICPC custody on Friday night on compassionate grounds to enable him attend her burial.

Reacting to the development, Amaechi said, “To show you that the government knows what they’re doing, they just released him (El-Rufai) without a court order.”
