JUST IN: Former NNPP guber candidate in Jigawa announces resignation from party

Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, the 2023 governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Jigawa state, has announced his resignation from the party.
Ringim disclosed this in a letter dated March 30, 2026, addressed to the NNPP chairman of Ringim ward in Ringim LGA of Jigawa state.
In the letter, the former governorship candidate said the decision followed careful reflection and consultations.
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), effective from the date of this letter. The decision has been taken after careful reflection and consultation,” he said.
Ringim expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve as its governorship candidate in the 2023 general election.
His words: “I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served as the Party’s Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 General Elections and as a Leader of the Party in Jigawa State.
“I sincerely appreciate the support, cooperation and trust extended to me by the Party leadership and members at all levels.
“I acknowledge the platform the Party provided and the collective efforts we made in advancing our shared vision. I wish the Party continued progress and success in its future endeavours.”
