Ondo APC Supporters Stage Solidarity Walk for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Wednesday staged a solidarity walk in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The walk, tagged “TinubuDatiwa Half a Million Walk 2027,” was led by the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and drew a large turnout of party loyalists and supporters.
Organised by Kehinde Akinrotoye, a former Senior Special Assistant on Sports, the event is part of ongoing mobilisation efforts across the state.
Speaking at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, Aiyedatiwa praised the impressive turnout, describing the initiative as a strong show of commitment towards Tinubu’s re-election bid. He noted that the walk forms part of a broader strategy by support groups to build grassroots momentum ahead of 2027.
The governor, who identified himself as a key patron of the support groups, said his participation reflected his solidarity with the organisers and their mission. He expressed confidence that sustained mobilisation would translate into massive electoral support for the President.
Aiyedatiwa added that the presence of government officials, civil servants, artisans, and members of civil society underscored the growing backing for Tinubu in the state. He projected that Ondo would deliver no fewer than one million votes for the President in the next election cycle.
He also highlighted the importance of the exercise from a health perspective, noting that activities like walking promote physical fitness and mental well-being.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Henry Omoyofunmi, said the turnout reflected public readiness to embrace the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
In his remarks, Akinrotoye explained that the walk was designed to galvanise support for Tinubu across all 18 local government areas and the three senatorial districts of the state, describing it as a demonstration of confidence in the President’s leadership.
