Recurring violence in Jos exposes security gaps, says Saraki

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has stated that the renewed unrest in Jos, capital of Plateau State, highlights deeper security lapses in the area.
In a post on social media on Wednesday, Saraki, a former Kwara state governor, described reports of the violence as unsettling.
His words: “The reports coming out of Jos, and the fresh wave of unrest we are witnessing today, are very unsettling.
“This situation underscores the reality that while curfews may offer temporary calm, they do not address the deeper security lapses that have left many communities exposed and allowed violence to recur, as we are now witnessing in Jos.
“I urge our security agencies to respond with urgency to restore order, prevent further violence, and ensure that those responsible are identified and held to account.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones, and with everyone affected across Plateau State.”
