“Jos killings can attract Trump’s attention” – Ohanaeze Ndigbo warns

The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the incessant killing of residents of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State by yet-to-be-identified armed men.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo in a statement issued in Sudnay, April 5, by Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Thompson Ohia its Deputy President General and National Spokesman called for an end to the killings.
Noting that the continued unprovoked killings could attract the attention of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
Recall that Trump has continued to issue warnings against the alleged persecution of Christians across Nigeria.
“Simultaneously, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has, in the strongest terms, condemned the Palm Sunday terrorist attacks and the tragic killings of Christians in Jos, Plateau State.
“While commending President Tinubu for his prompt condolence and sympathy visit to Jos, a gesture highly befitting of a Nigerian President, the organization emphasizes that it is now time for the Federal Government to redouble its efforts in tackling the renewed insecurity challenges and terrorist attacks in the Northern region,” the organisation.
Also expressing confidence in the leadership of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa and the minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle to steer the affairs of security in the country.
”In addition, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has advised the opposition coalition leaders in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to explore all internal options to seek justice. Instead of their alleged plans to seek external help from foreign governments to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize their leadership under Senator David Mark, the organization firmly believes that they should pursue justice through the Supreme Courts. It is essential to state the truth without hesitation, regardless of who may be affected.
”The organization warns that the Jos killings, INEC activities, and the actions of the ADC are capable of attracting the urgent attention of the USA President, Donald J Trump, back to Nigeria’s issues. Currently, the White House’s focus is on the USA’s Epic Fury military actions against Iran. After the last USA Christmas missile attack on Sokoto, any issue that might make the United States Government take an interest in Nigeria again should be avoided.
”Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls on Ndigbo to continue supporting President Tinubu’s administration. As we celebrate this Easter season, the organization wishes all Igbos a fruitful celebration. It welcomes Igbos from far and wide as they return to their villages and communities to reunite with their loved ones during this festive period,” Ohanaeze added.
