2027: Don’t Vote for Me Because I’m Igbo or Christian — Peter Obi to Nigerians

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has called on Nigerians to reject tribal and religious considerations when voting, urging them instead to focus on competence and vision.
He made the remarks during an interview on Arise TV on Monday night.
Obi, who recently defected from the Labour Party to the African Democratic Congress, is preparing to contest in the 2027 general elections.
He emphasised that his candidacy should be judged on his ability and commitment to transforming the country.
“I’ve said it before: do not vote for me because I’m from the South-East. Do not vote for me because I am a Christian.
“Vote for me because I am committed to turning Nigeria around.
“And I will do it, starting from the North, because I understand where the problems lie.
“I will revive the productivity that once made the North secure.
“We must move Nigeria from a consumption-driven economy to a productive one — from sharing wealth to creating it.”
