“What we’re seeing, we’ve never seen its type before” – Dino Melaye slams Tinubu

A former lawmaker, Dino Melaye has slammed President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress-led administration over the biting hardship and poverty faced by Nigerians across the country.
Melaye, who represented Kogi West Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate said the Tinubu-led government without a review of the system took steps that have plunged Nigerians into untold hardship and multidimensional poverty.
Speaking at the 2026 National Convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja on Tuesday, the former lawmaker said Nigerians have never witnessed the kind of challenges presented by the current administration before.
Further urging Nigerians to trust the ADC to lead them out of the current situation of hardship and abject penury, Melaye said the leaders presented by the coalition party are capable of delivering good governance to the people.
His words, “Peter Obi will not need assistance, abi? Kwankwaso will not need assistance, abi? Amaechi will not need assistance but government of like this, like this,” he said demonstrating some level of instability in his act.”
Continuing Melaye using the Yoruba adage, urged the ADC members and supporters to say “God forbid”.
“God will by the grace of God, rescue us in the country. What we are seeing, we have never seen its type before.
“The president on the 29th May, 2023, at Eagle Square without asking questions, even before he got to the office of the president to know what subsidy is; he had not been briefed, just like that. He said, subsidy is gone.
“And the next thing that followed was negative concomitant to fate; from prices of goods and services,” Melaye said.
