JUST IN: Strait of Hormuz Back Under Strict Control — Iran Military Command

Iran’s central military command announced on Saturday that it would reinstate “strict management” of the Strait of Hormuz, reversing an earlier move to reopen the strategic waterway as part of negotiations with Washington.

In a statement broadcast on state television, the military headquarters accused the United States of breaking its commitment by maintaining a naval blockade on vessels travelling to and from Iranian ports.

It added that until Washington restores unrestricted movement for all ships bound for Iran, “the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will remain strictly controlled.”
