NAF seeks stronger collaboration with Pakistan Air Force to enhance air power

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening operational capacity through international partnerships.
This followed a courtesy visit by Zaeem Afzal, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), to Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, in Abuja. The visit took place at the NAF headquarters on April 22.
Aneke described the engagement as timely and beneficial to ongoing military cooperation.
“Our enduring partnership with the Pakistan Air Force continues to deliver tangible gains in training, capacity development, and operational effectiveness,” he said.
He said the collaboration has enhanced Nigeria’s ability to project air power and called for expanded cooperation between both Air Forces.
“We must sustain and broaden our areas of cooperation to enhance interoperability and ensure our forces remain agile, responsive, and mission-ready,” he said.
Afzal praised the NAF for its professionalism and hospitality and said the partnership would continue to deliver mutual benefits.
“This visit provides a valuable opportunity to build on our shared history and further strengthen cooperation,” he said.
The meeting was attended by senior NAF officers and Kamran Mushtaq, Pakistan’s defence adviser to Nigeria.
