Tinubu, Atiku, Obi, Obasanjo Share Same Political Ideology — Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has said that President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and Peter Obi share similar political ideologies and outlooks.

Sani made the remarks during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he also claimed that Obi’s support base is largely driven by ethnic affiliation.

According to him, a significant number of Obi’s supporters come from his ethnic background.

“The support for Peter Obi is largely tribal; many of those backing him are from his ethnic group,” he said.

He added that even if Obi were to become president, there would be no significant change in governance.

“If Obi becomes President today, nothing changes, everything remains the same.

“Peter Obi, Obasanjo, Atiku, and Tinubu all come from the same ideological perspective; they share similar thinking. Tinubu will win the 2027 election,” Sani stated.

Reflecting on past governance, he also criticised the response to insecurity under former President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the North remained largely silent despite widespread violence and kidnappings.

“When Buhari was in power, the North was quiet while people were being killed and kidnapped, and insecurity was widespread.

“During my time in the Senate, whenever I spoke about the killings and kidnappings affecting my people, the first opposition I faced came from Northern senators,” he added.
