Senator Kalu’s brother buys N50 million APC governorship form for 2027 Abia race

Hon. Mascot Uzor Kalu has purchased the N50 million governorship nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 election in Abia State.

Hon. Kalu, younger brother of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, is seeking to contest the governorship ticket of the APC.

The development comes as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election cycle.

Abia is currently governed by Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party, who won the 2023 election in a contest that disrupted the long-standing dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Kalu has previously held public office, including serving as chief of staff to the Abia state government and as a federal lawmaker.

His brother, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, remains a prominent political figure and currently represents Abia North Senatorial District.
