Insecurity: Several Killed, Others Injured as Bandits Attack Commuters in Zamfara

Several travellers were reportedly killed and others injured after suspected bandits attacked commuters along the Gusau–Magami highway in Gusau Local Government Area.

The incident was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the councillor representing Magami Ward, Hon. Shehu Musa.

According to the statement, the victims were travelling from Gusau to Magami when armed gunmen ambushed their vehicle and opened fire, leaving several people dead and many others injured.

The councillor sympathised with the families of those who lost their lives and those wounded in the attack, as well as residents of Magami Ward. However, he did not disclose the exact number of casualties.

He also urged residents to continue praying for lasting peace and an end to the growing insecurity affecting Zamfara State and other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, residents of the area have called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the recurring bandit attacks across the region.
