Three Rivers federal lawmakers loyal to Gov Fubara fail APC screening

Three lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara have failed the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s national assembly primaries in Rivers state.
The affected lawmakers were reportedly screened out over issues linked to their eligibility and political alignment within the party structure.
The development comes amid growing political tension in Rivers state ahead of the 2027 general election.
The three Rep members were part of the lawmakers who sided with Governor Fubara during the political crisis in Rivers State. They were also part of the four lawmakers who defected with Governor Fubara to the APC.
The fourth Rep member, Boniface Sunday Emerengwa, is said to have gotten the Senate nomination forms, but the final list is not yet out.
The screening outcome is expected to further deepen the political divide between camps loyal to Fubara and those aligned with former governor Nyesom Wike.
