Keyamo congratulates Okowa for clinching the Delta North APC senatorial ticket

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Delta North Senatorial District.
Keyamo also extended his congratulations to Senator Ede Dafinone and Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas for securing the Delta Central and Delta South senatorial tickets, respectively.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the minister described the APC primary election in Delta State as largely free, fair, and credible, noting the impressive turnout of genuine party members.
He hailed it as the best-organised primary conducted by the party in the state since the APC’s inception.
“Now is the time for healing and reconciliation. I urge all those who lost gallantly to take it in their stride and embrace the victors for the unity of the party and, ultimately, for the victory of all our candidates in next year’s general elections.
“I also urge the victors to be magnanimous in victory by extending hands of fellowship to the losers, accommodating them and their supporters within their structures. There is always strength in unity,” Keyamo said.
The minister also commended Delta State Governor, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for providing purposeful leadership and running one of the most inclusive political administrations ever witnessed in the state.
He described the governor’s leadership style as “second to none,” adding that 2027 would be “a coronation waiting to happen” for him.
Keyamo while also appreciating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, described him as the overall leader of the party who promoted internal democracy and allowed a free and fair process nationwide.
“Those who ignored local and grass-roots leaders, neither lobbied nor consulted them, but sought to get tickets from Abuja to impose themselves on the people, have now been brought down from their high horses.
“This is a moment of sober reflection for them and time to join hands with others to truly build the party from the grassroots,” he said.
