Former governor Dankwambo emerges PDP consensus candidate for Gombe North Senate race
Former governor of Gombe, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has been affirmed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the consensus candidate for Gombe North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.
The affirmation exercise took place on Wednesday at the PDP Gombe North zonal office in Malam Sidi.
Party officials from Gombe, Kwami, Funakaye, Dukku and Nafada LGAs attended the exercise alongside members of the PDP state executive committee.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from Abuja, Gombe state and the Malam Sidi zonal office were also present during the process.
The event was attended by PDP governorship aspirants in Gombe state, House of Representatives aspirants and State Assembly hopefuls from the senatorial district.
The aspirants reportedly attended the exercise in solidarity with Dankwambo ahead of the 2027 election.
Dankwambo, a former governor of Gombe state and ex-Accountant-General of the federation, currently represents Gombe North in the Senate.
The affirmation exercise comes amid ongoing political activities and party primaries ahead of the 2027 elections across the country.
