Former Benue Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh Dumps APC for PDP
Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His defection was confirmed in Makurdi, where he was officially received into the PDP by former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, according to a statement issued by his media aide, Agber Kulugh.
The statement explained that Dajoh’s decision to leave the APC followed prolonged internal disputes and failed reconciliation efforts within the party.
Following his move to the PDP, Dajoh took part in the party’s Benue North-West Senatorial Primary Election in Makurdi, where Eunice Ortom emerged as the PDP senatorial candidate.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to unity, inclusive leadership, and community development, stressing that his political decisions would continue to prioritise the interests of the people of Gboko West and Benue State as a whole.
The latest development is seen as part of the ongoing political reshuffling in Benue State ahead of future elections.
