Osun Election: Davido Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plot to Deregister Accord Party

Nigerian Afrobeat star, Davido, has raised concerns over what he described as an alleged plan to deregister the Accord Party ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The singer made the allegation on Thursday via a post on X, where he questioned the rationale behind any move to remove the party from the political race.
He also called for a transparent and competitive election process, insisting that all parties should be allowed to participate freely.
In his words, he wrote: “Deregister Accord party for what? Cowards let’s go to the field.”
His comments come barely 48 hours after he publicly criticised the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, accusing him of being part of what he described as a desperate political arrangement ahead of the poll.
