CONFIRMED: David Alaba to leave Real Madrid [REASONS]

Real Madrid have confirmed that David Alaba will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Austrian defender’s departure will bring to an end a five-year stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, following his move from Bayern Munich in 2021. Alaba arrived in Madrid with huge experience and quickly became one of the senior voices in the dressing room.
During his time with the Spanish giants, the 33-year-old enjoyed another successful chapter in his career, winning several major honours, including La Liga titles and Champions League trophies.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez paid tribute to Alaba’s contribution, praising his professionalism, commitment and influence during some of the club’s biggest moments in recent years.
However, injuries played a major role in the latter part of his spell in Spain. Alaba spent long periods away from the pitch after suffering a serious knee injury, while further fitness problems made it difficult for him to return to regular action.
As Madrid continued to rebuild their defensive line, Alaba gradually slipped down the pecking order, with other centre-backs becoming preferred options for the coaching staff.
Despite his struggles with injuries, the former Bayern Munich star is expected to attract interest as a free agent. Clubs in Europe are monitoring his situation, while possible offers from Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer could also be considered.
Alaba is now set to weigh his options carefully as he prepares for the next phase of his career.
