FG orders reopening of Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road sections for Eid travel

The Federal Government has directed the contractor handling the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road project to immediately reopen all sections of the highway to ease movement during the Eid al-Adha celebrations.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the minister of works, Dave Umahi, said the directive was aimed at ensuring safer and smoother journeys for commuters travelling during the festive period.

He said Infiouest Nigeria Limited, the contractor handling the project, had been instructed to open the affected sections of the road without delay.

Umahi also said the accident that occurred earlier along the route had been completely cleared to ease movement

According to the statement, security agencies have been deployed to strategic locations along the highway to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of road users throughout the festive season.
