Terrorists apprehended as NAF strikes hideout in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its aerial offensive against terrorist groups in Borno State, delivering precision strikes on a major hideout in the Sambisa Forest axis and facilitating the apprehension of several insurgents.

This was disclosed in a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters.

According to Ejodame, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, acting on credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports, conducted precision strikes on identified terrorist hideouts and support structures at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” he said.

Ejodame noted that the intensity and precision of the sustained air offensives have continued to generate fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis.

“Intelligence assessments indicate growing apprehension and disorientation within the ranks of the terrorists as sustained bombardments deny them freedom of movement and safe havens,” he added.

He further assured that NAF, in collaboration with ground troops of Operation HADIN KAI and other security agencies, remains committed to maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks while protecting innocent lives and restoring lasting peace and security in the North-East.
