Akpabio pledges National Assembly’s support for Tinubu’s reforms

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has pledged the National Assembly’s full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing reforms.

Akpabio made the pledge during a Sallah homage visit to President Tinubu’s residence in Lagos. He commended the administration’s economic and security initiatives while assuring the President of continued legislative backing.

The visit coincided with Eid al-Kabir celebrations. Akpabio prayed for the President’s good health and wisdom, and sought divine intervention for the release of those in captivity.

“We came here to felicitate the President, wish him the Barakah of this Salah on Eid al-Kabir, and pray for him for continuous good health and wisdom, as well as for our nation,” Akpabio said.

He further praised President Tinubu for boldly tackling deep-rooted structural issues inherited in 2023, noting that building a viable non-oil economy is a difficult but necessary task.

“President Tinubu has performed excellently well over the past three years,” Akpabio added.

The Senate President emphasised the need for collaboration stating, “We can’t do it alone. The National Assembly will assist him to improve security — which has actually improved.

“We are assuring him of the cooperation of the lawmakers, particularly the National Assembly. I will stand by him as long as everything he proposes is positive for the future growth of this country.”
