Iran Breaks Silence on Recent US Airstrikes, Reveals Next Line of Action
Iran has condemned what it described as violations by the United States following strikes on the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, vowing to defend its sovereignty.
The position was made known in a statement issued on Thursday by the spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei.
Baqaei said Iran would take all necessary measures to protect its national sovereignty, while also condemning what he described as threatening rhetoric by US officials against Iran and several countries in the region.
“Referring to the continuous ceasefire violations by the US, Baqaei insisted on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to take all the necessary measures to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The Islamic Republic also expressed solidarity with Oman after US President Donald Trump allegedly threatened military action against the country.
The ministry spokesman described the remarks as a troubling sign of the growing normalisation of intimidation and lawlessness in international relations.
Politics Nigeria reported that US forces launched strikes targeting a ground control station in the southern port area of Bandar Abbas.
The attack triggered a swift reaction from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, who claimed they had targeted the US air base used to launch the strike, although they did not disclose its location.
