JUST IN: Marafa Secures NDC Governorship Ticket for Zamfara 2027 Race

Kabiru Marafa has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Zamfara State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Marafa secured the party’s ticket through a consensus arrangement during a meeting held in Gusau, the state capital.

The chairman of the party’s electoral committee, Aminu Jelani, formally announced him as the NDC governorship candidate.

Speaking after his emergence, Marafa expressed appreciation to party members for their support and pledged to deliver accountable and responsible leadership if elected governor.

He said corruption has hindered development in Zamfara State and promised to prioritise transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public resources.

Marafa also vowed to improve governance, raise the living standards of residents, and ensure equal opportunities across the state.

The former senator recently joined the NDC after leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a move earlier confirmed by party leader Seriake Dickson.

According to the party, Marafa agreed to strengthen the NDC and spearhead its political activities in Zamfara State.
