Kwankwaso Reveals Position on Protests, Leadership Change as Insecurity Rises

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has urged the public to disregard a viral social media message falsely claiming that he is organising a national protest over the country’s worsening security challenges.

The clarification was contained in a press statement on Monday.

The former Governor of Kano State emphasised that he does not endorse any mass action capable of disrupting public peace, causing a breakdown of law and order, or resulting in the destruction of lives and properties.

Kwankwaso’s clarification comes amid a fresh wave of growing security concerns, notably the recent mass abduction of 46 primary and secondary school pupils and teachers in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
