2027: Any Vote for Peter Obi is a Vote for Tinubu — Kenneth Okonkwo Claims [VIDEO]

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has argued that any vote cast for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the 2027 election would ultimately benefit President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV, Okonkwo said opposition forces must remain united if they hope to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next presidential election.
The former spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council maintained that a fragmented opposition would only improve Tinubu’s chances of securing another term in office.
According to him, dividing votes among opposition candidates would weaken efforts to build a strong challenge against the APC.
“A vote for Peter Obi in 2027 is a vote for Tinubu,” Okonkwo declared during the interview.
He explained that there are two ways, in his view, that politicians can aid the president’s re-election bid. One is by directly belonging to the APC, while the other is by remaining outside the ruling party but splitting opposition votes.
Okonkwo claimed that any political move capable of reducing the strength of a united opposition coalition would indirectly favour Tinubu at the polls.
The ADC chieftain also criticised Obi’s political decisions, particularly his reported withdrawal from the opposition coalition ahead of its internal processes.
He argued that Obi voluntarily joined the coalition but later left before its activities were concluded.
Okonkwo further questioned Obi’s reluctance to participate in a competitive primary process, insisting that leadership requires the ability to confront political challenges.
“You want to be the president of a challenged country, and you’re running away from challenges,” he said.
Drawing attention to voting patterns in the South-East, Okonkwo cited Enugu State as an example of how opposition votes could be divided if multiple candidates contest against Tinubu.
He warned that such a scenario could hand an advantage to the incumbent president and reduce the chances of an opposition victory.
