JUST IN: Terrorists Kill Four Residents in Fresh Attack on Zamfara Community

Suspected terrorists have attacked Wuyya village in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing four residents in the latest incident of violence to hit the troubled northwestern state.

The attackers reportedly stormed the community on Sunday evening and opened fire on residents, leaving four people dead.

Confirming the incident on Monday, security analyst and conflict tracker Bakatsine said the terrorists carried out the attack overnight, resulting in the deaths of four villagers.

“Last night, terrorists attacked Wuyya village in Anka LGA, Zamfara State, killing four residents,” he said in a security update.

According to him, the victims were laid to rest on Monday morning in accordance with Islamic rites, as the community mourned the loss of its members.

“The victims have been buried according to Islamic rites this morning as mourning grips the community, with growing concern over worsening insecurity in the area,” he added.

The attack has once again raised concerns about the deteriorating security situation in Zamfara State, where terrorist groups continue to target rural communities despite repeated military operations aimed at restoring peace.

Residents have continued to question the effectiveness of security measures in vulnerable communities that remain exposed to frequent attacks.

“How long will rural communities in Zamfara continue to endure repeated deadly attacks without lasting protection?” Bakatsine asked.

Zamfara and neighbouring Katsina states have remained major flashpoints for terrorist activities, including mass abductions, killings and cattle rustling.

The persistent insecurity has forced thousands of residents to flee their homes, with several communities abandoned due to recurring attacks and kidnappings.

Despite ongoing efforts by security forces, residents say terrorist attacks continue unabated, leaving many communities living in fear and uncertainty.
