Oyo Govt Demolishes Building Allegedly Used to Store Arms in Ibadan [PHOTOS]

The Oyo State Government on Tuesday demolished a building in Ibadan allegedly used as a storage facility for arms and ammunition.

The property, located in the Gbenku area along Arubiewe Road, off Olodo Garage in Ibadan, was reportedly discovered during an ongoing security investigation.

Sources said the compound consists of a storey building and two bungalows enclosed within a fence.

Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, said security operatives uncovered the suspected cache of weapons during their investigation.

He explained that the demolition was carried out on the directive of Governor Seyi Makinde as part of the administration’s efforts to tackle insecurity and criminal activities across the state.

The development comes days after the state government demolished another building allegedly linked to the abduction of a sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin children.
