Aisha Yesufu Makes Fresh Revelation on Obi-Kwankwaso Alliance
A member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Aisha Yesufu, on Wednesday revealed that she had personally appealed to former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to accept the position of running mate to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi during the 2023 election cycle.
Yesufu made the disclosure in a post on X while expressing support for a reported Obi-Kwankwaso alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to her, she had long advocated for a partnership between the two political figures and remains committed to seeing it materialise.
She wrote, “Some things in life take longer than they should. Like the saying goes, better late than never.
“4 years ago I literally begged @KwankwasoRM to be Peter Obi’s running mate.
“Now that it is happening, you think I am going to be distracted? No way. Let’s get it done.”
