I’ll Come For You – ADC Rivers Gov’ship Candidate Sends Warning To Election Riggers
The African Democratic Congress governorship candidate in Rivers State, Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson, has issued a stern warning to anyone who may attempt to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Pidomson, in a viral video, said he would not challenge any alleged electoral manipulation through post-election litigation, but would instead personally confront those he believes were responsible for rigging the election.
The ADC candidate vowed that his campaign team would take steps to prevent the manipulation of results, insisting that election riggers should not expect alleged electoral fraud to end in court.
“We are going to stop them from rigging. For me, I don’t believe that somebody will just go and write and announce results, then think it will end in court. I’m not going to court.
“If you rig my results and I know you, I will follow you after the election. It will not just end there,” he said.
Pidomson’s comments come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship election, with political parties and their candidates seeking to consolidate support across the state.
The ADC candidate had, in July, received a delegation of Igbo Title Holders in Rivers State during a courtesy visit to his office in Port Harcourt.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Eze Mike Okokoba, and the Coordinator, High Chief Samuel Okorie, pledged their support for Pidomson’s governorship ambition.
While receiving the delegation, Pidomson described the Igbo community as “special indigenes” of Rivers State, citing their long-standing residence, investments and family ties in the state.
He promised that an ADC-led administration would promote inclusive governance and ensure that all stakeholders had a role in decision-making.
Pidomson also said his administration would uphold what he described as the tradition of inclusive leadership associated with the administration of former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Also at the meeting, ADC Deputy National Chairman, Senator Andrew Uchendu, called on the delegation to support what he described as the movement to rescue Rivers State.
Uchendu argued that the level of decay in the state required collective efforts to restore effective governance and sustainable development.
Responding on behalf of the delegation, Okorie commended Pidomson’s character, integrity and leadership capacity, saying the group was prepared to mobilise its members behind his aspiration.
“Today, we, the Title Holders, as custodians of Igbo tradition and leadership in Rivers State, have come to pledge our maximum support to your aspiration,” he said.
“We believe in your vision. We believe in your capacity. And we are ready to mobilize our people toward a successful 2027,” he added.
The meeting was attended by several ADC leaders, including the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate, David Amapakaye Okumgba; Uchendu; Rivers State Chairman, Chukwudi Dimkpa; Dr Joeba West; Tamunotonye Longjohn; Chief Prince Mike Oyiakhire; Alhaji Haladu Danu; and other titled Igbo leaders in the state.
Pidomson, a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, is contesting the 2027 governorship election in the state against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, among other contenders.
