Ex-Minister Adelabu Challenges APC Primary Results in Oyo, Alleges Manipulation

Former Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu, has claimed that the total number of registered members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State is fewer than 500,000.

Adelabu made the assertion on Friday in a statement signed by his media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro.

The former minister, who resigned from his position to contest the Oyo APC governorship primary but lost to Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has continued to dispute the outcome of the election, alleging manipulation.

In the statement, Adelabu dismissed claims that Senator Alli secured over 500,000 votes to emerge as the party’s candidate, describing the figure as inaccurate.

He insisted that the total registered APC membership in Oyo State stands at 153,640, not 500,000 as being circulated.

Adelabu also urged party members to await the official declaration of results.

The statement further claimed that Adelabu enjoys strong grassroots support across the state, based on figures being collated from various wards.

“Those in charge of the results need to be careful and not to be used by anyone to truncate or alter the results because it is already clear to us from what we are collating from each ward,” the statement said.
