6 Persons Dead, Others Injured In Kano Fire Outbreaks

Six people have been killed in fire outbreaks in Kano throughout the month of January 2025, the State Fire Service has said.

An official of the service, Kabiru Jaafar said six other people were also injured and rescued in the same month.

According to Jaafar who represented the command’s spokesperson, Saminu Yusuf, the service saved properties estimated to be worth N1,196,950,600 during the period under review.

Jaafar said, “The Fire Service, under the supervision of the Director, Alhaji Sani Anas, in January 2025, received emergency calls from our 29 fire stations across the state in the month under review.”

He added that the command received a total of 56 emergency fire calls leading to 10 rescue calls and seven false alarms.

“I will use this opportunity to draw the attention of the general public to handle fire with care to avoid fire incidents, especially during this harmattan period.

“All motorists are urged to drive with care, as well as abide by traffic laws, especially when travelling on highways to avoid road accidents,” the service added.
