The caretaker chairman of the Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Federal Constituency Matters, Hon. Dare Adeleke, has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is deeply fearful of the potential candidacy of Governor Makinde in the 2027 presidential election.
In a recent interview, Adeleke criticized the APC’s growing concern over Makinde’s possible run, particularly after the Governor publicly affirmed his readiness to contest for the presidency, citing his capacity to lead the country.
Adeleke stated, “The APC is in mortal fear of a potential Makinde ticket under the PDP. They know his candidacy could spell doom for their disastrous administration, which has been one of the most disappointing in Nigeria’s history.”
He further stated that Governor Makinde’s record in Oyo State, marked by significant achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture, stands in stark contrast to the failures of the APC-led federal government.
His words: “Look at Oyo State under Makinde. All sectors are thriving, from roads to agriculture, healthcare, and security. While APC government under President Tinubu inflicts pain, hunger, and despair, Makinde has been delivering real results.”
Adeleke also addressed the growing concerns within the APC, stating that the party knows well that a Makinde candidacy in 2027 will not be an easy contest.
“Nigerians are watching, and they know who truly has the capacity to lead them. Makinde has consistently outperformed them in development, governance, and leadership,” he added.
Adeleke praised Governor Makinde as young, vibrant, and capable, contrasting him with what he described as the “geriatrics” of Nigerian politics who only seek power to enrich themselves and their cronies.
He concluded by stating, “If Makinde runs for president, he will win. The people are tired of empty slogans and are now wiser than ever.”
