Nollywood star Uche Montana has firmly denied claims linking her to the alleged drug issue involving Regina Daniels and her ex-husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

The actress, in a statement shared on her Instagram page on Monday, distanced herself from the allegations and described them as false and damaging.

“My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims. For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace,” she wrote.

Her response came shortly after Nwoko, in a lengthy Facebook post, accused some of Regina’s close associates — including Sonia Uche and Uche Montana — of frustrating his wife’s recovery process.

According to him, those mentioned “bring her the same drugs she was being treated for,” despite medical advice to restrict their access to her.

The controversy deepened as fans on social media took sides, with some defending Montana and others urging Nwoko to provide proof of his claims.

POLITICS NIGERIA observed that the drama between the couple has continued to dominate online discussions in recent weeks.

Two weeks ago, Regina Daniels appeared in a viral video where she accused her husband of domestic abuse and described herself as a “slave” in his home. Nwoko responded, denying the abuse allegations and claiming Regina was struggling with “drug and alcohol addiction.”

In her defence, Regina alleged that her husband was the one who introduced her to the substances and further accused him of locking her up, seizing her phones, and forcing himself on her whenever she resisted.

The latest development adds another layer to the ongoing marital crisis between the actress and the politician, with Uche Montana now seeking to clear her name from what she calls a “baseless rumour.”
