APC Fixes New Date for Ward, LGA Congresses in Abia After Suspension

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its rescheduled Ward Congress will take place on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, across the state.

According to the party, the Local Government Congress will follow on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

The disclosure was contained in a statement issued by the APC caucus in Abia State.

The caucus explained that the earlier suspension of the exercise was aimed at addressing internal disagreements within the state chapter, adding that unity has now been restored.

It further stated that the State Congress is still scheduled for Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

Meanwhile, there have been widespread speculations that the state governor, Alex Otti, may defect to the APC ahead of his bid for a second term, although his media aides, Ferdinand Ekeoma and Dodoh Okafor, have dismissed the claims.
