As the 2023 election approaches, Jack Obinyan, a former senior special assistant on social media to Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, on Monday said Christians should take the most blame for the decision of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to pick a Muslim running mate.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tinubu’s appointment of Kashim Shettima, a fellow Muslim as his running mate has caused varied reactions, with many of his critics castigating him.
Obinyan, a top campaigner of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, accused Christians of voter apathy.
“Christians have more blame in this nonsense and see-finish…During elections you don’t come out to vote, waiting for victory to fall from heaven!” he wrote on his verified Facebook page, indirectly reacting to the trending topic.
Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, Monday lightheartedly advised Tinubu to take good care of his health.
Issues surrounding the 70-year-old’s health seem to never go away despite the fact that the former Lagos State governor and his associates have tried to downplay them.
“If you see my friend, Bola, tell him to take it easy, take good care of his health and make sure that… because I love him so much, he is my friend,” Kwankwaso told Reuben Abati of Arise TV during an interview.
When did Kwankwaso become a medical doctor issuing unsolicited medical advice? He wants to be president over Nigeria and do not know when and which advice is appropriate.
Disraceful, Kwankwaso should be made to face the futile moribund business of presidential contest he has chosen for himself.
