“Be Careful With the Women in Your Office” — VDM Issues Warning to New IGP Disu

Social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has issued a public warning to the newly confirmed Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, urging him to exercise caution in the choice of personnel working closely with him, particularly female officers within the police hierarchy.

The warning followed the official confirmation of Disu as the head of the Nigeria Police Force.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, the outspoken commentator spoke at length about alleged misconduct during the tenure of the former police leadership.

In the video, VeryDarkMan strongly criticized the previous administration of the police force, claiming it left behind serious institutional problems.

“The previous Inspector General of Police is the worst IG in history. His regime single-handedly ruined the Nigerian Police Force. The kind of atrocities and injustice that were done from his office were crazy,” he said.

He also drew attention to the actions of a female officer identified as Buki, described as a PSO Two, whom he accused of allegedly abusing her position and authority.

“Imagine, a PSO Two officer arresting people in Wuse Market and claiming they stole her gold worth N2 billion. Where do you get that kind of money? Nigerians cannot understand the kind of corruption that has passed through her hands,” he alleged.

According to him, such actions had serious consequences within the police system and affected justice delivery during the previous administration.

“A lot of people could not get justice under the previous IG’s tenure because of her. Even police officers had their promotions delayed; she could decide who gets promoted or not. It’s so sad,” he added.

The activist then turned his attention directly to the new police boss, advising him to remain alert and ensure strict supervision of officials working around him.

“Sir, I have a direct message to you: have self-control. You must be very careful with the women you put in your office. If you know anybody in your office who might spoil ongoing cases, call them out immediately.”

Despite the criticism of the past leadership, VeryDarkMan expressed confidence in Disu’s leadership ability.

He referenced the new IGP’s previous role as Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, noting that some cases he personally brought forward during that period were handled efficiently.

“I was fortunate to bring cases to your office when you were CP, and I won’t lie, those cases went smoothly. That’s why I’m confident you can restore integrity in the force. Be careful, be very careful. The Nigerian Police Force has suffered enough. History must not repeat itself under your watch,” he said.
