The newly inaugurated Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, has made a series of decisions, including the nullification of recent appointments made by former Governor Aminu Tambuwal after March 19, 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Governor has also suspended the recent appointments of Traditional Rulers made by his predecessor.
The Press Secretary to Governor Aliyu, Abubakar Bawa, released a statement detailing the Governor’s actions.
The statement mentioned that the renaming of Tertiary Institutions in the State and the appointments related to their Governing Councils and relocations have been reversed.
Furthermore, Governor Aliyu has issued a directive for the immediate revocation of land allocations made by Tambuwal during his tenure.
Part of the statement emphasised, “All recent appointments of Traditional Rulers made by the former Governor of Sokoto State Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal are hereby suspended and will be reviewed in due course in the public interest.”
