JUST IN: Soludo Swears In New SSG, Other Appointees, Urges Commitment to Service

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Wednesday swore in the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, alongside other key appointees, charging them to deliver effective service to the people of the state.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House, Awka, popularly known as the “Light House.” The new SSG and other officials took their oaths of office at about 12:47 pm.

Earlier, the former Solicitor-General of the state, Mrs Ngozi Iwouno, administered the oath of office to the new Attorney-General, Tobechukwu Nweke, who subsequently swore in the other appointees.

Addressing the officials, Soludo welcomed them into what he described as “Team Solution 2.0,” noting that their selection followed a thorough vetting process. He described their appointments as a call to serve and the first in a series of appointments to be made by his administration.

“I welcome you all to ‘Team Solution 2.0.’ Each of you has been carefully selected through a deliberate process. This is only the first batch; more appointments will follow,” the governor said.

He urged the appointees to see their roles as a responsibility to the people of Anambra, stressing that public service requires sacrifice and dedication rather than personal gain.

Soludo also emphasised the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and discipline, noting that their collective goal is to deliver value to the state. He further advised them to remain guided by the oath of office and allegiance they had taken.

The governor appealed to residents, especially families of the appointees, to avoid placing undue demands on them, stressing that their primary responsibility is to serve the state.

Those sworn in include the Head of Service, Mrs Ngozi Iwouno; Principal Secretary to the Governor, Joachim Anetoh; Chief of Staff, Dr Ben Nwankwo; State Chief of Protocol, Prof. Frank-Collins Okafor; and Commissioner for Finance, Uzochukwu Okafor.

Others are the Attorney-General, Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN); Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime; Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Vincent Okechi; and Deputy State Chief of Protocol, Ms Ngozi Okoye.

Also appointed are Special Adviser on Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Dr Godwin Nnadozie; Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation/CEO, Solution Innovation District, Ms Chinwe Okoli; Special Adviser on Special Projects and Director, Project Evaluation and Monitoring, Prof. Ebuka Nwankwo; and Special Adviser on Community Security, Ken Emeakayi.
