Kano Central Senator Rufa’i Hanga Dumps NNPP, Set to Join ADC

The Senator representing Kano Central, Rufa’i Hanga, has officially severed ties with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

The veteran lawmaker and founding member of the party confirmed his exit after weeks of intense speculation regarding his relationship with the party’s leadership.

Senator Hanga, who secured his seat in the Red Chamber following a landmark Supreme Court victory that ousted former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, is now set to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

Confirming the move to our correspondent, associates of the Senator revealed that he has already “tendered his resignation from NNPP and is set to officially decade for ADC coalition at his ward today.”

The formal declaration at his ward is expected to draw a large crowd of supporters and local leaders who are reportedly planning to follow the Senator into his new political home.
