CBN Gov Cardoso visits El-Rufai’s family over mother’s death [PHOTO]

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso has visited the family of a former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
Cardoso paid a visit to the El-Rufais on Tuesday, April 7, Bello El-Rufai, the former governor’s son and a member of the House of Representatives disclosed.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family, Bello said he was privileged to receive Cardoso in the family’s residence.
According to him, the CBN governor visited to condole with his family over the passing of their matriarch, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai.

He said, “Earlier today, I had the privilege of receiving the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Olayemi Cardoso in our family home.
“The Governor came to condole our family over the loss of our grandmother, Hajiya Umma.
“In the absence of the elders of the family, it was an honour to receive a public servant whom I personally respect and adore,” Bello said.
He also commended the CBN governor for his efforts towards driving people-oriented policies at the apex bank.
“Under his stewardship at the apex bank, investor confidence has increased. Personally, I continue to view him as a reformer and I believe he is one of, if not the best appointment by the current administration.
“Honest, fearless and very patriotic. As the Chairman of the Committee on Banking Regulations in the 10th House of Representatives, I have enjoyed working closely with him and his team.
“In the past three years, he has also been a father figure to me and I will forever be grateful for his wisdom, guidance and his total commitment to ensuring transparent orthodox monetary policy prevails in our financial system. May Almighty God reward him for this visit. May God bless the souls of all those we have lost. Thank you Governor,” Bello added.
