The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially revealed the dates for the highly anticipated governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states next year.
This was made known in a statement by Mr Sam Olumekun mni, the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education and Committee.
According to the statement, the Edo governorship election is scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024,
Furthermore, Mr. Olumekun disclosed that the Ondo governorship election will follow closely, set to take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
INEC, the electoral body responsible for conducting these elections, is expected to implement all necessary measures to ensure smooth and transparent elections, including deploying electoral officials and security personnel and establishing polling stations across both states.
