Abba Kyari: PDP reacts to death of President Buhari’s Chief Of Staff

Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Presidency had announced Kyari’s death in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased had tested positive for COVID-19 on the 27th of March, 2020 and had been receiving treatment until his death.

In a statement on its Twitter handle signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP described the death of Kyari as depressing and saddening.

The PDP also condoled with President Buhari, the Kyari family, the government and people of Borno state and the nation at large for this painful loss.

The opposition party prays that the Almighty Allah grants Mallam Abba Kyari eternal rest and forgive his shortcomings.

Similarly, the PDP commiserates with families of all the victims of COVID-19 pandemic and prays for the speedy recovery of the sick who are receiving treatment in various isolation centres.

The statement read: ” PDP Mourns Abba Kyari, Condoles Families of COVID-19 Victims: The
PDP describes the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, as depressing and saddening.

“The PDP comforts President Buhari, the Kyari family, the government and people of Borno state and the nation at large for this painful loss and prays that the Almighty Allah grants Mallam Abba Kyari eternal rest.

“Similarly, the PDP commiserates with families of all the victims of COVID-19 pandemic and prays for the speedy recovery of the sick who are receiving treatment in various isolation centers.”
