The Ondo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the embattled deputy governor of the state, Hon. Agboola Ajayi as a desperate politician and a sore loser.
The opposition party made this known in a statement on Monday by its Publicity Secretary, Kennedy lkantu Peretei, in Akure, the state capital while reacting to Ajayi’s resignation from the party.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that Ajayi resigned his membership of the PDP and declared that he has defected to the Zenith Labour Party. He noted that he will realize his governorship ambition with the party.
According to Peretei, the resignation of Ajayi from the party has no effect on the party, adding that he will not be missed. He added that his exit from the party will not scuttle the PDP chance in the forthcoming governorship elections.
The statement reads ” the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State has received the exit of Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi from the Party, from just online publications.
”As a party, we are have not received his letter of resignation but we wish him well in his political journey. ” Agboola Ajayi joined our party on 22nd June 2020 and participated at the Governorship Primaries having received waiver from the National Secretariat of the Party.
“He has abused the welcome and privilege accorded him by our party supporters during his brief stay in the party. “He also proved that he is desperate to become the Governor of Ondo State. In the days to come, it will dawn on him that, he has squandered whatever was remaining in his goodwill with this decision.
“However, his exit from the PDP will not affect our prospects of winning the October Gubernatorial Elections. Peretei said that
“The PDP remains solid, strong and more determined than ever before to win the forthcoming governorship elections with a credible and competent candidate in the person of Eyitayo Jegede, SAN.”
Jegede or no Jegede ,Akeredolu will clinch second term in october governorship election The reason very simple in less than 4 years Rotimi Akeredolu has proved he could transformed the State as a prefered industrial destination unlike his Predecessor Mimiko who plunge the atate bankrupt whereby civil servants salary never paid for over 12 months. As for Agboola Ajayi his Political carreer has ended in the State due to his inordinate personal ambition. Ondo state are wise and sophiscated people and whatever political party Agboola Ajayi identified with in the state will collapse before his eye because he means no good for the state,and hes a sabotuar,and back stabber. Rotimi Akeredolu has proved time and time again he can answered a hard call anytime and thats what good leadership all about.
