A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the recent disqualification of Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki from the APC’s governorship Primaries thus impeding his second term ambition.
Obaseki made headlines on Friday afternoon after an APC screening committee disqualified him over discrepancies between his HSC and NYSC certificates.
In a statement via twitter, FFK criticized Obaseki adding that he should never have ‘bitten the finger that fed him’.
“One of the most important virtues in life is LOYALTY. Never bite the finger that fed you. Obaseki has learnt this lesson the hard way.”
“I have known Oshiomole for years. He is a formidable adversary, a skillful fighter &a tough cookie. Obaseki could never have outmanoeuvred him.” he tweeted.

Governance should never be viewed in the perspective of Loyalty to the so called godfathers. Whether Oshomhole was key and instrumental to Obeseki should not in anyway stop Obaseki from discharging his duties discretionary as a governor especially if his idealogies are adjudged right for the people of Edo state by the masses. Its folishness to continue to bear the painful yoke of people in the name of godfatherism. It won’t take us anywhere in Nigeria. In fact we are tired of it. Its better to be disqualified than to dance to the tune of unpleasant music

Sometimes I am appalled at how the so called elites in this clime of ours, respond to sensitive issues. It is quite funny and disgusting how insensitive they have become to the mandate reposed in them by the electorates. What on earth did education teach them? I least expected this from FFK . Obaseki Should be accountable to the people of Edo state and not to the ugly Oshio . Obaseki is right
I dont like the So-called godfathers but if Obaseki was disqualified for discrepancies in his Certificate, especially the NYSC certificate, he would have gone for appeal and perhaps withdraw NYSC certificate and present his O’level certificate alone since that could have been accepted. This would have given the APC screening committee no cogent reason to disqualify him and no accusing finger should have been pointed at Adams.
Obaseki steps on his master’s toe’s. Oga Femi you are 100 percent correct he is not loyal to his master’s because he’s now a bigger boy in Edo. Obaseki will loose to Oshobaba APC
